Why We Work This Way

Most fireplace injuries at home are not chimney fires. They are a toddler touching gas glass, a dog knocking over a screen, or a grandparent stumbling on a raised hearth edge. Granite Peak Chimney Company built its visits around those everyday risks for households in Thousand Oaks and the towns nearby.

Each visit starts in the room, not on the roof. We check the barrier screen, the hearth edges, where the remote and gas key live, and the smoke and carbon monoxide alarms on that floor. Only then do we move to the firebox, the flue, the damper and the cap.

You get a short written list ranked by how much each item matters to the people in your house. Prices come before any work starts, and nothing gets added on the day without your yes. Plenty of items are free fixes you can do yourself, and we say so.

What a Household Can Count On

Four promises we keep in every home, whether the fireplace burns wood or gas.

Household First, Chimney Second

We start every visit at the hearth, where children, pets and older relatives actually get hurt, and only then climb to the flue. The checklist is the same whether the job is a sweep or a repair.

Prices Before Ladders

Sweeps start from $225 and a Level 1 inspection is $55. Anything else is quoted in writing after we have seen it, and the total does not change halfway through without your approval.

A Tidy, Child-Safe Work Area

Drop cloths, a filtered vacuum, tools kept out of reach and a ladder that is never left standing alone. When we leave, the room is ready for crawling babies again.

Plain Words, Clear Choices

Every finding comes with a photo and a rating: fix now, fix soon or watch. We explain each one in a sentence or two and let you decide, with no pressure to book on the spot.

Covered on Every Job

The basics a family should ask any contractor about before letting them in.
