The 2018 Woolsey fire burned near parts of Westlake Village, and Santa Ana winds still carry embers over the ridges in fall. Ember-resistant caps and clear roof valleys around the chimney matter here. The lake keeps some mornings damp, which is hard on rusted caps and dampers left unused through summer. So when Granite Peak Chimney Company schedules fireplace remodel in Westlake Village, CA, the visit covers both the chimney and the room around it, where the people you care about sit closest to the fire.

We see lakefront homes, planned-community houses from the late 1960s onward, and custom hillside residences here. Older brick hearths tend toward loose mortar and tired screens, factory-built units toward cracked panels, and gas units toward unscreened glass and controls at toddler height.

the oak-studded neighborhoods along the Conejo Valley floor and its hills
Many Thousand Oaks living rooms center on a fireplace that comes alive only a few times a year, on cold weekends and holidays, which means a cracked panel or a dead alarm can sit unnoticed for seasons. Families here often ask us to check the hearth before a new baby arrives or a parent moves in. Factory-built units and gas log sets are common, so glass screens and gas keys get a careful look.
Open this townthe canyon-edge streets of Agoura Hills on both sides of the 101
Agoura Hills homes often have more than one place to burn: an indoor fireplace, a patio fire pit, sometimes a wood stove in a den. Each needs its own look, and the outdoor ones sit where kids and dogs play. We check spark mesh, screens and the gas shutoffs for every fire feature on the property during a single visit.
Open this townthe gated hills and canyon streets of Calabasas
Calabasas homes frequently have a fireplace in the family room, another in the main bedroom and a gas feature outside. With several flues to track, it is easy for one to go years without a check. We keep each fireplace on its own line of the report, with a safety rating for children, pets and older relatives in the house.
Open this townthe gated equestrian lanes of Hidden Hills
Hidden Hills properties often combine a main house, a guest house and outdoor fire features, so several flues and gas lines run across one lot. Large households with visiting grandchildren and pets make the hearth check especially worthwhile. Gate access is arranged in advance, and we confirm the visit window the day before.
